Origin Story
Hi, I’m Amy. Twenty years ago in a tiny office above Cashel Mall, I kicked off my career as a love coach. To test the techniques I taught, I threw myself into Christchurch’s thriving dating scene… and a few years later found love.
I returned to Christchurch in 2025. To my shock, so much had changed. The Strip was gone. Dating app fatigue had set in. Hookups were still easy to come by, but finding love? Like a needle in a haystack.
It felt like the only option was using the apps, but the apps brought out the worst in people. A friend send me screenshots of some of the profiles and messages she encountered. Yikes!
“They need a dating coach,” I told her.
That’s When My Friend Said…
“Why don’t you do something about it?”
Her words knocked around in my head for weeks. I already offered dating advice. Why create something special for Christchurch when the internet is heaving with tips?
Then it hit me:
Because Christchurch doesn’t need the same advice as everyone else.
Nowhere is quite like this city. It has its own culture, its own history, its own quirks and dynamics.
